  ON THE TOWN, PETER PAN, WONDERFUL TOWN, CANDIDE, WEST SIDE STORY, MASS, 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, THE MADWOMAN OF CENTRAL PARK WEST     Features   Candide - the so-called 'troubled' operetta which started on Broadway and ended magnificently in a 'full' opera house version directed by Jonathan Miller and conducted by John Mauceri.   Mass - one of the least lauded of Bernstein's major works and certainly a majorly misunderstood piece of work but arguably one of his finest.   Wonderful Town - the best musical ever written is five weeks !   On the Town - Lenny's and Comden and Green's first Broadway musical   Peter Pan - the Broadway show with music and lyrics from Lenny   West Side Story - one of the greatest musicals   1600 Pennsylvania Avenue - Lerner and Bernstein's 'lost' musical
